The King at College

I'm sitting here tonight on the couch doing some research for a college assignment. I need to take 4 images, 2 of which I consider poor styling, 2 or which I consider excellent styling. So far I've flipped through lots of magazines, checked out magazines, blogs and street style. I'm in heaven. Heaven is in m little love nest.

Here is my favourite inspiration to this point, photographer Benny Horne. Not only are his shots incredible, the stylist he works along side of is just phenomenal. Between The King Benny Horne, the stylists and the models, this is heaven.

p.s. It took me so long to choose what to include, you need to go and have a look for yourself... http://benny-horne.com/e-d-i-t-o-r-i-a-l

Al Pal from Bal

In a season full of colour and clashing prints, the new Balenciaga head designer, Alexander Wang, provided a fresh palette of neutrals full of intriguing deconstructed right angles for RTW Spring 2013. His first RTW collection in 2007 sky rocketed him into the spot light and Style.com has said he is It in NYC fashion, which really means, the world.

These are my picks from his recent collection. Let's wait and see what happens with Balenciaga at the mercy of this supernova.

Palette a plenty

When I was younger I worked in the warehouse of my grandfather's business. There were lots of forklifts, oversized rolls of glad wrap, bikini clad centrefold babes and palettes. So many palettes. That's where I'm claiming that my palette obsession came from.

French by Design is an incredible blog that recently featured a few flicks of palette beds. So I'm thinking about a little more DIY. Note the magazine stack, relevant!

There's also a funky little restaurant in Surry Hills, Orto Trading, where I've never eaten but constantly admire for their décor. They have old signs as tabletops, lots of exposed brick and once loved furniture, but the crème de la crème for me is the graded palette stack with cute (bolted down) pot plants in wine buckets and glass jar candle holders. Very cool vibe, I guess I really should stop in!

I hope I don't become a 'gonna'... you know, I'm 'gonna' do it, (and then I never do?!). When (not if) I start building up a storm I promise there will be photos of the how, where and when of it.
